“Trashy” photos - What an idea!
Today, it seems many brides are opting for outlandish efforts to make a statement when it comes to their wedding album.
Today’s modern bride is willing to take drastic measures to get the most out of the ‘dress she will only wear once’. Why only wear the most precious dress of your life for one day only to store it away and possibly never look at it again?
Photographers are jumping on the latest wedding movement and offering Trash the Dress services to any bride willing to get her dress dirty. Many photos depict brides standing in the waves, rolling in the mud, in dirty city alleyways and just about anywhere you wouldn’t normally go on your special day due to the possibility of ruining that dress!
It’s true the stand-in-front-of-a-pretty-garden shot is getting *yawn* a little tiresome but is this really the way to go in order to make an assertion with something as precious and beautiful as your wedding gown? For some, this is actually a very liberating experience. Why not extend the best day of your life by taking the dress of your dreams to the limits? The actual wedding day can be so stressful and lets face it at times prissy. It could be fun to let it all out when it’s all said and done. What is the point of preserving it when you will never wear it again?
This new trend may not be for everyone but it sure is a great way to let off some steam after months of planning and stressing about the perfection of this day. I’m still on the fence but I never say never to new things. Who knows what I will do? I might get red wine on my dress anyways and then it won’t be such a bad idea to capture the events of my clumsiness. It might be fitting actually.
