Co-Ed Showers - Gaining Popularity Among Modern Couples

Published by carolinecloutier at 4:14 pm under Advice, Trends Edit This

Bridal showers always seem to involve women getting together in order to eat cake, open presents and play silly games. The modern bride, however, is choosing to leave all the traditional ‘fluff’ behind and do things her way.

A trend quickly gaining popularity is the the co-ed shower. This could be due to the fact that people are recognizing that two parties are involved in the union - and not just the bride. Reality is, you simply can’t get married without another half! And with the lack of ‘man’ showers taking place, some of the more sensitive men can feel left out when their future wives traditionally receive most of the attention - not to mention gifts!

With a co-ed shower, the atmosphere tends to be on the casual side. While many traditional showers are formal with frilly decorations and dainty appetizers, a co-ed shower should appeal to all tastes. Holding a BBQ is a great way to ensure everyone is having a good time. Set out beer and wine. Have hotdogs, hamburgers and chicken. Also keep games to a minimum and just allow the guests to enjoy one another’s company naturally.

Times have changed and people not only want their other halves there to share in the moment, but also want their good friends (who may be men) there as well. This also gives the maid of honour a chance to share the responsibility with the best man! Enjoy, relax and have a great time!
